The New Tech Agenda
CFOs need to lead to guide their organizations to make smart technology investments that deliver competitive results. The CFOs are now working with the executive leadership team and Boards to guide in the deployment of technology that aligns with the company’s strategy and business model while at the same time delivers meaningful positive financial impact.
“CFOs are expected to step up and be “strategic”. Being a strategic CFO starts with being forward thinking about finance’s tech strategy. As a CFO are you thinking incremental or strategic when it comes to your technology? My experience is successful CFOs have a thoughtful technology plan that continues to position finance to support the company as its strategy evolves and is being realized”
John Gimpert, Conference Co-Chair & National Content Director, CFO Leadership Council
From analytics to AI, the right technology can enable a CFO to increase efficiency as well as gain useful insights. New technology can ultimately help a CFO with challenges, assist in the growth and change of the business, as well as help it thrive.
The 5 Tech Questions
As a CFO, here are the top tech questions you should be asking now:
- What are the business problems you are trying to fix?
- What are the technologies you plan to invest in to solve those problems?
- How are you improving your customer’s experience?
- How are you planning to fund?
- How will you then measure success?
CFOs can now implement technology to run data so they can focus more on innovating and predicting the needs of the business. For example, by leveraging AI, transactional tasks that still occupy much of a CFO’s time can be automated. Thus allowing them more time to focus solely on improving overall business performance.
